On chithrA paurNami day, polindhu ninRa pirAn enjoys thirumanjanam, 2 puRappAdus (one puRappAdu in sEsha vAhanam and another puRappAdu in vettivEr chapparam for sapthAvaraNam), thiruppAvai gOshti, etc.
On the next day, nammAzhwAr visits the ellaikkal (a place near appan kOyil – the birth place of AzhwAr) early in the morning (leaves around 5.30am). He stays there for some time.
He then visits rettai thiruppathi dhivya dhEsam for maNdagappadi.
At 3pm, AzhwAr enjoys thirumanjanam at appan kOyil.
He then returns to AzhwAr thirunagari temple and enjoys a puRappAdu on thangappuLiyAzhwAr (golden tamarind tree) vAhanam. Other AchAryas – emperumAnAr, kUrathAzhwAn, piLLai lOkAchAryar and vEdhAnthAchAryar join him for the puRappAdu.
After returning to temple, AzhwAr enjoys sapthAvaraNam (completion) puRappAdu in vettivEr chapparam along with emperumAnAr.
After returning to temple, he enjoys another thirumanjanam followed by thiruppAvai gOshti.
Note: In the olden days, perumAL/AzhwAr use to visit thAmirabharaNi river to enact the incident of giving mOksham to mANduka maharishi. Nowadays, this is done inside the temple after the second puRappAdu.
